Top three male grooming tips
If your man is anything like a fair few of the blokes I know, he’d probably rather sit through a ballet than get involved in any aspect of beauty. While that might be fine and dandy for the ‘I’m-single-and-don’t-want-a-girlfriend’ type of guy, it’s not exactly going to fly when we have to catch sight of their nasty nails on a daily basis, or snuggle up to their scaly skin at night. Am I right ladies?
So it’s up to us to educate the lads in our life, to give them some grooming tips that’ll make them more huggable, more kissable, and all-round easier on the eye! Here’s where you can start:
1.) Teach him about the importance of a good skincare routine
If he can’t act his age half the time (and which man ever does?), why would he want his skin to look it? He’s much more likely to get away with childish behaviour if he’s got an irresistible baby face to go with it, so try to get him to cleanse with a hydrating face wash – at a minimum – on a daily basis.
2.) Ensure he stays on top of his scent
As I’m sure you all know, there are two categories of body sprays – anti-perspirants, which help to stop the body from perspiring; and deodorants, which provide a fresh scent and help mask body odour. Your man on the other hand, probably doesn’t know this. So if he’s the type that tends to get hot and sweaty, he’ll need to use an anti-perspirant product – preferably with a deodorising component too, to ensure he smells fresh all day.
3.) Help him maintain a ‘men’s mani’
For me, there’s nothing more off-putting than a guy with long, or dirty fingernails. The first just screams ‘sleaze’, and the second…well it makes me wonder when last he washed his hands, which is never a good thing. In my experience, guys are more likely to keep their nails in top shape if you give them a bit of a helping hand along the way. So the next time you’re cutting and filing your nails, offer to do his too – he’ll probably be nicely surprised by how good they look and will be less likely to put up a fight the next time you offer the service. And who knows, one day he might even start doing them himself!
