Expert trial team: 4 beauty buys we love this week

There are many perks that come with being part of the beautyheaven team, and one of the best is being able to share with you the latest and greatest beauty buys to hit the shelves.
This week, the goodies we had on hand were a little luxurious, leaving us feeling a little special (and properly pampered). We tested an irresistibly smooth body oil, a super long-lasting foundation, a shine cream to leave strands sparkling, and a radiance-boosting face serum. So how did these products fare? Read on to find out…
ModelCo Instant Miracle Booster Skin Brightening & Firming Serum
bh’s Rosie says:
"To be honest, my skin has been seriously stressed out lately. From breakouts and dry patches, to redness and blackheads, it’s safe to say my skin hasn’t fared too well coming out of winter. Enter ModelCo’s Instant Miracle Booster Skin Brightening & Firming Serum! Firstly, the packaging fits really comfortably in the palm of my hand, and the pump lid dispenses the perfect amount of product. The serum itself is very smooth and has a relaxing, rose-like scent. It absorbed into my skin with ease and left it feeling immediately hydrated and revitalised. Incorporating this serum into my ski care routine has changed my complexion from being dull and tired-looking to radiant and more youthful. Thanks to vitamin C, this serum has really brightened by skin, and those dry patches on my cheeks and nose have disappeared. I would definitely recommend this serum to anyone wanting a daily boost of radiance and nourishment."
Sanctuary Spa 5 Day Moisture Creamy Body Oil
bh’s Beth says:
“After a weekend spent in the sun, I really needed a more heavy-duty moisturiser to replenish and revive my skin. Sanctuary Spa’s 5 Day Moisture Creamy Body Oil, which contains the nourishing ‘gold of pleasure’ oil, seemed like a great option as it combines the benefits of a dry oil with a moisturiser in one. A little goes a long way, so you have to be a bit careful when squeezing it out. The creamy, apricot-hued formula is easy to rub in and leaves a subtle sheen, for a healthy glow. As for the scent, it’s really alluring and reminds me a bit of incense, without being too overpowering. I’m in the habit of applying moisturiser daily, so wasn’t really keen to go five whole days without, however I did skip one day and found that the hydrating effect really lasted. I would 100 per cent recommend this luxurious moisturiser – it’s incredibly hydrating and perfect for when your skin needs a bit of extra nourishment.”
Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation with Comfort Serum
bh’s Sam says:
"I trialled this foundation in the Ivory shade and was really pleased with how it illuminated my skin rather than washing it out, which is a problem I often come across with lighter shades of foundation. I have really dry skin, so the comfort serum was definitely a big drawcard for me as I'm always after some extra moisture. Nobody wants a foundation that sits in their dry spots! Overall, the foundation was really comfortable and light to wear and while I can't comment on its ability to last up to 25 hours, it did provide adequate coverage for an entire working day without the need for touch ups. I also love a foundation with a pump! So much easier to apply and a lot less wastage."
TIGI BED HEAD Blow-Out Golden Illuminating Shine Cream
bh’s Liv says:
"I've tried heaps of hydrating hair masks and leave-in treatments; no-one's strands get more attention than my lucky tresses! So when this interesting looking product came in from TIGI, the words' golden' and 'illuminating' had me very, very interested. Gold and sparkly in colour, the fluid lotion can be applied to wet or dry hair and is great for all hair colours, but especially brunettes and redheads. Ding ding ding! It's designed to smooth flyaways, tame frizz and leave a brilliantly shiny finish on your mane and I have to report that this miracle cream does all of the above. What I loved is that the formula had actual gold mica through it, which was luxurious to use and also contributed to the glossy finish of my hair once dry. I prefer to use it when my hair is damp as it dries really nicely. A must for the brunettes and redheads out there!"”‹

i've been looking for many years for some 'true match' foundation, from supermarket/pharmacy brands to higher end and organic ones. So I just realized, it is not all foundations suck, but my face is so so problematic (huge pores, uneven skin colour...), that can not find any that works for me. Seeing this Rimmel one being so popular, I must check it out!

These all sound fantastic!! The only one that probably wouldn't suit me would be the Rimmel foundation. I have oily skin so I don't think this foundation would be suited for my skin type.
