How-to identify and treat nappy rash
For new mums that might not know the telltale signs of nappy rash, here’s what to look for:
The skin around your baby’s genitalia will look red and inflamed
Your baby may be particularly irritable at nappy change time or on contact with bath water
Your bub may be generally more unsettled and irritable than usual
There are many nappy rash creams on the market to choose from. They can be bought from your local supermarket or pharmacy. Some popular ones include Bepanthen, Curash Medicated Nappy Rash Cream and Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream.
If your chosen nappy rash cream doesn’t appear to be healing your baby’s nappy rash within four to five days, ask your local pharmacist to recommend a medicated cream.
Nappy rash can be really painful for babies, especially severe nappy rash, it’s important to keep your baby’s bottom clean and dry.
