3 unexpected ways to wear lipstick

If you thought that lipstick was only good for a quick swipe of colour across your lips, think again. Your lipstick is actually one of the most versatile products in your makeup bag. Don’t believe me?

Here are three products in your makeup kit that can be replaced by your lipstick.
Colour Corrector
I bet you never thought to wear your lipstick under your eyes, but red lipstick is surprisingly effective as a colour corrector under your concealer. Since red cancels out the colours blue and black, simply dab lipstick under your eyes before applying your concealer and say bye-bye to dark under eye circles.
Eyeshadow
Lipstick can also be worn as a stunning cream eyeshadow. Apply it straight onto your eyelids and use your fingers to blend it until you get your desired look. A brown or mauve lipstick is a great place to start, but a bold red or pink lipstick looks amazing for a high-fashion look.
Blush
There’s no need to carry both blush and lipstick in your handbag when your lipstick actually doubles as a cream blush. Apply a red, pink or peach coloured lipstick to your cheeks and blend it out with your fingers for a soft flush.

I have only ever used it rarely as a bit of cheek colour but never a concealor or eyeshadow. Very creative ideas!! I expect the right colour would make all the difference. I like articles like this that explore the boundaries!

I haven't ever done it and I have no intention of starting now. Having grown up in an era where specific products were meant for specific uses I have no desire to use any beauty product for something it wasn't designed for in the first place - I'm very happy to accept my "old fashioned" tag.

I feel like I would not be able to blend it well enough as an eye shadow, but I have always been tempted to try it as a blush... maybe one day!

I’d be worried about using greasy or cream type lipstick on my face, it would cause breakouts surely? Maybe matte might be more suitable?

Ive used lipstick as a blush before....mainly when I was a young teen and didnt own blush. My favorite thing is to actually use a powder blush as a lip colour under lip balm and as an eyeshadow. Powder blush is amazing and comes in some wonderful shades.

I have seen some very pigmented cream eye makeup looks on pinterest before. Maybe i can achieve that look with lipstick too! However, i don't think it will be very comfortable.

I've used pink lipstick as a blush! It's not the best feeling on my skin but it's worth it if your in a rush!

I have tried a lippy as a blush, but prefer a powder blush! I am loving Burt's Bees lipsticks at the moment!

I've been lazy & used lippy as a blush before, but wouldn't use it as a colour corrector or eyeshadow.

I would have thought lipstick was too harsh for the delicate eye areas

That was my thought too! As I age, the delicate skin under my eyes has become very thin and I have to be careful with what I put near it.
