Three easy ways to change up your beauty look
You know how sometimes you’ll put on your favourite jeans and shirt combo and look in the mirror and think: “Ugh. This? Again?!” It kinda gets like that with beauty at times.
Your ol’ reliable make-up application still looks fabulous and does wonders for your features, but it’s just so…boring. And predictable. And you could actually do it all with your eyes closed if you wanted to.
So how about we shake things up a bit, huh? Why not try one of these three easy-peasy ways to change up your same-‘ol, same-‘ol make-up routine?
WEAR A SHADE OF LIPSTICK YOU’VE NEVER WORN BEFORE
There are literally hundreds of lipstick shades out there, so why are you sticking to the same red/pink/rose/nude? The quickest way to get out of a make-up rut is to go against your gut and reach for a lipstick hue you’ve never worn before.
If you’re not sure what to go for, look for the shades that’ll work best for your skin tone and undertones.
If your skin is fair with cool undertones, try a blue-based red, and if you have warm undertones, a peach or coral will do wonders for your complexion.
For medium skin that’s warm, opt for a tangerine hue, and if it sits a bit more on the cooler side you can always try a Barbie-esque pink.
An orange-based red is a great choice for those with warm, olive skin, and those with dark skin will find that any vibrant lipstick will work beautifully against their complexion.

GO ALL OUT WITH YOUR SMOKY EYE
Sure, this look takes a bit of bravery to pull off, but it certainly packs a mighty, mighty punch.
To achieve this look, you’ll want to have a black eyeshadow, a grey eyeshadow, and a silver eyeshadow.
1) Using an angled-brush and your black shadow, draw a line from the outer corner of your eye diagonally up to your brow bone. This will create a winged effect.
2) From that line, take your brush along the crease just under the brow bone and stop just after your eye colour ends.
3) Take a dense eyeshadow brush and fill in half that that area with your black eyeshadow, focusing most of the colour at the outer corner.
4) Take a fluffier brush and blend the colour from the outer corner toward the inner corner of your eye.
5) Using an eyeshadow brush, apply your grey shade from the point where black crease line ends and blend it in towards the inner corner of your eye.
6) Apply your silver shade at the inner corner of your eye to give your eye look a radiant shimmer (and to open up your eyes).

OVERHAUL YOUR BROWS
Like properly overhaul your brows, not just pluck a few strays here, fill in some gaps there. Well-groomed brows can do wonders to define your face, but add in a bit of tinting and you’ve got yourself a power brow that will totally transform your look.
First you’ll need to figure out your ultimate brow shape (and this handy guide will help you do just that). Once you’ve found your shape, grab your tweezers and beging plucking. Make sure to take it slow and reassess after each hair stand removal. It sounds pedantic, but you’d be amazed at how much difference one hair can make.
Once you’ve found your shape, apply a brow tint that’s the same shade as your brow colour. Going too dark may make your brows look too unnatural, while the same shade will just give your brows an extra hint of colour.
Keep an eyebrow pencil or powder handy for day-to-day filling in, and a spoolie to brush your brows into place.
When was the last time you changed up your make-up look? Will you try one of these to spice things up?
