5 of the best pink-red lipsticks

Don’t you just love this shade on Emma Watson? The vibrant pink-meets-red hue is incredibly striking, yet still hits the right girly notes. It also does wonders for her complexion and looks perfect paired with those bold brows and flushed cheeks.
If you’re in the market for something similar, these are a few of our faves:
Napoleon Dévine Goddess Lipstick in Calypso, $35, 02 8595 0911
Highly pigmented doesn’t even begin to describe this lipstick. And not only does it stay on for hours and hours on end, it leaves lips feeling soft and pampered, too.
ModelCo Party Proof Lipstick in Parisian Pink
The punchy colour applies like a dream and leaves a sultry matte finish on your lips. Plus, you won’t feel any dryness or discomfort from the formula – hooray!
Ulta3 Matte Lipstick in Hot Pink Kisses
Say hello to lips that will look gloriously full and lusciously pink, whilst going easy on your bank balance, too. Looking glamorous has never been so simple.
Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick in Flamenco
This bullet of creamy, nourishing goodness cares for your lips while ensuring they look nothing but gorgeous. Oh, and the shade names are pretty nifty, too.
Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick 106
If it’s good enough for Kate, it’s good enough for you. The formula contains a blend of lightweight emollients to ensure the lipstick glides on easily, while precious ruby powder gives the shade its beautiful rich colour.
TOP TIPS FOR LONG-LASTING LIPSTICK
- Always start with a lip liner to line the edges of your lips. This will help stop your lipstick from bleeding or feathering. You can also fill in your lips with the liner. This will ensure that you’ll still retain some colour if your lipstick fades.
- Apply your lipstick in layers, pressing your lips together after each. This will press the pigments into the skin of your lips and help the colour last longer.
- Never forget to blot at the end! And take your forefinger, stick it in your mouth, close and pull your finger out. Both of these tricks will help keep that lipstick off your teeth.

Pinky reds are gorgeous. I have got a few and do wear them sometimes, depending on what clothing I’m wearing. My favourite is from Bite Beauty, the shade is discontinued, it’s called Watermelon.

I can't wear red, so this looks like it could be a great compromise.

I miss my Guerlain one, they do not make it any more. The packaging (that I adored) and the formula is different now. Pink with some tiny blue sparkles in a gold packaging with a tiny mirror on top. Was so so glam and lasted forever on.

I have very warm skin tone and only cool reds like this in pink red tones and blue undertone reds suit me. It they are with anything brown, warm undertone, warm reds...I look like having jaundice around my mouth lol
Also these shades pop the eye colour more, if having green/blue!

urrrrgh, the "put your finger in your mouth" thing gives me the shivers! I always use a folded tissue to blot to avoid teeth transfer. The nurse in me cannot lick my fingers! Good to see some reasonably priced ones in this lot - in fact all of them are.

Pink is for everyone who feels comfortable with it, no matter how young or old, in my opinion.
