Mavalip Lipstick Reviews

I have two of these: a light shimmery lilac called Atlanta, and a hot matte orange called Ibiza. Ibiza is incredibly pigmented, is very creamy when applied and dries down to a matte finish. Atlanta is sheerer due to the lighter colour and shimmer, but is still decently pigmented. I can layer it up easily for a more pigmented lilac lip. I can't comment too much on staying power as I can't get lipstick to last more than an hour on me, but these weren't terribly over or under that limit.

I just wish these were available more widely! I stumbled across them while browsing a more upmarket chemist in my local Westfield, and have never seen them anywhere else. Now that chemist has closed down to make way for a Priceline, so I have no idea where to get them! :(

I also received this as part of my purple booty from BH. I like Bermuda which I would describe as a burgundy. It felt quite creamy on application though it is a bold colour and I had to tissue some of it off and top-coat with a little lip-gloss. It's a nice shade which would look good on most people if they only use a little (or a lot if you can get away with it). I love the glamourous gold striped lid. As for staying power, it didn't last for hours but I find most lipsticks don't.

I received this lipstick as part of my purple booty. The first thing I noticed about it was edgy packaging - it has gold diagonal stripes on the tube. It also had the brand name Mavala imprinted on the band of the lipstick while the letter M was embossed on the top of the lid respectively.

Bermuda is deep mauve/plum shade. I don't know if it's fragrance free but I did detect that “lipstick smell”. I found that this shade is quite well pigmented as I needed only one coat to impart an abundance of colours onto my lips. The colour is too bold for day-to-day wear, but might be good for a night out as if you're looking to wear bold colour which isn't neon pink. I imagine a lighter shade or a nude colour would look quite natural. It left a rather matte finish but doesn't stay on if you eat or drink. The lipstick itself was very creamy and it does hydrate my lips as claimed.

I'm quite happy with it performance-wise but I honestly wouldn't pay $18 for this when I can buy other lipsticks (Rimmel, NYX, Australis, Maybelline, Revlon etc) for less or even about the same price that has good pigment as well as better staying power.
