Selena Gomez is hiring for Rare Beauty and the role is very unique

When it comes to discussing personal struggles with mental health, Selena Gomez has always been an open book.
You only have to do a quick search and you'll find her discussion on bipolar disorder with Miley Cyrus, or a dissection of her lyrics about depression and anxiety.

So when we found out she was launching her own beauty line, Rare Beauty, it came as no surprise that she would be doing it a little differently.
While announcing the news to her followers, Selena said “its not just a brand. It’s going to be a lifestyle”. In a direct response to the unattainable standards of beauty most of us are now used to, Rare’s mission is to 'enhance your individual beauty'.
As Selena puts it, “I want us all to stop comparing ourselves to others and start embracing our uniqueness”. Preach.
And with the foundation range offering 48 shades from the get-go, we have high hopes.

Although we still don’t know an official launch date (hitting Sephora sometime this year), we do know something equally as exciting...
Rare beauty are HIRING. The role? Director of social impact.
The focus of the role is to help people feel 'less alone in this world' and to ensure Rare is making a measurable difference in the world of mental health.
Selena announced the role on the Rare Beauty Instagram Stories, where she revealed her involvement in the hiring process, as well as her intent to work closely alongside the successful candidate, to give customers access to mental health and support services.
A supportive community is something Rare have already begun implementing, with an initiative called “what makes you rare”, which you can check out on their Instagram.

I have always wanted to work in hairdressing and make up. It was, still is a dream of mine. One day perhaps. Sounds like a rewarding job, you would have to be extremely lucky to score that position. I will make it slightly easier for that person by passing up the opportunity Haha I love Australia too much

There are so many celebrities bringing out their own range of products but Selena sounds like she's got a unique angle. It sounds positive, so I wish her success.

Ha, I would love to apply for this but being so old and not a glamorous beauty, I am already eliminated. Besides, no professional training either.

Don't think I'll be moving to California any time soon, but I imagine this will be a popular job posting & many people will be scrambling to apply for it. I'll be keen to see what she brings out with this beauty line, if & when it hits our Sephora stores. Hopefully 1 shade out of the 48 will suit me!
