being an older member
Is it me or am I just being paranoid? Since I turned 70 and even before that I notice that even though I have been offered a CHANCE to enter trials I never hear anything again? I also miss out on all the other offers too it seems, such as the discovery bags and other such offers. I am sure I am not alone in being this age and we do still try and look after our skin and make up and hair some more than others. I know that since I first became a member quite a few years ago 2010 the membership has shot up, which is good for BH and gives them a much wider choice from which to pick, but I must admit I am feeling a little Left Out at the present time.

I have just tried the Watermelon color from essie and my nails looks stunning! I love the vibrant color and received lots of compliments for.

So Sorry shaper that you feel like you have been forgotten, I haven't been a member very long but I was lucky enough to be drawn out for, the September Discovery Bag and I will be 60 years old this year.
Shaper I agree with you that the more Mature Women still look after themselves and want to trial products as well, don't give up! Put in an application for the October Discovery Bag when it comes up. Good Luck to You.
If you haven't had a trial in over 2 months, I would send Jess an email and let her know and hopefully she can put you at the top of the list when something suitable to your profile pop up.
Hi Shaper,
We are so sorry to hear that you feel like you've been missing out. Here at bh we are always looking to include everyone, no matter what age, and will be having an opportunity to trial a Summer Essentials Pack coming up so keep an eye out for that! Also please feel free to let email me at edrogitis@bauer-media.com.au if you have an queries and especially if you feel you haven't been included in a trial for a few months and I will be sure to look into that and see what can be done on my end :)
Thanks,
Eleni xx
Dear Eleni thank you for your kind reply, I was not complaining as such, well probably a little but I must admit I do feel like I have been pushed aside. I can recall at least 3 trials over a few months that I got informed about and then nothing...and I also appreciate that you now have so many more members, it must be hard to try and keep them all happy. I just felt that my age was in the way. Thanks again for your answers. Best wishes from Perth WA
Thank you Shaper for starting this forum link. I am getting closer to 70 by the day and though I have been lucky in some trials for the more mature beauty there are so many that I would have loved to participate in that I do think I have a need for that product. Again, it is difficult for BH to decide who to invite to trials as the companies also put some age ranges for their trials and perhaps that is why we miss out. I would love to be considered for the upcoming trial of Summer Essentials Packs mentioned by Eleni but I guess this also depends on how many are required and the age range. Most trials are as a result of an invitation email to the specific members so unless we get an email, we are not even aware their is a trial until we see it mentioned, then it is too late.
I have also heard via the 'grapevine' that BH sometimes doesn't even have enough people in the mature age range to trial products. Not sure this is true as I know several ladies in the higher age range who would love to be included in any trials for the more mature group, including me. I am happy to try just about anything concerning beauty and health. Always looking for how to keep myself well maintained and healthy. And I am registered to participate in trials. That is the first step anyway to be invited. I don't know if we have to re-register as I also had a lapse in invites and just re-registered.
Good luck in future trial offers.
Thank you Am1851 I must agree with everything you have just said. I do feel that as you age you do get ignored , especially in shops Oh well its better than the alternative I suppose.
The alternative, shaper, would not allow us to trial anything more, except on the day of departure! Hope you get some good trials soon.
I've heard this a bit lately that the more "mature" people are not getting trials and mainly the "younger" under 30's get majority, I'm 35 myself and don't get many anymore either but have been lucky enough to go to events and get products that way to trial. Good luck - hope you get a trial soon.
I'm sorry to hear that this has been happening to you... Have you contacted BH directly or the trial team organiser directly (can't think of her name!!! Eep!!! Ha ha!!!) and asked if there were any opportunities to suit you???
I reapplied to become a trial team member. Within a week I had a trial invitation, after receiving nothing for several years (even after a couple emails to bh team over that time, which they responded to and said they’d consider me for the next trial I matched). Coincidence? Don’t know. But I say give it a go. Sign up as a new trialler and see what happens.
I had a drought for a couple of years, then I applied again & emailed. I've been getting quite a few trials since then - I'm 53. I'm on Bh most days: I wonder if that means I'm more visible when it comes to trial team selection?
