I've been wanting a facial got years (I have a lot of blackheads & acne), but my issue is I have incredibly sensitive skin, does anyone else with sensitive skin get facials? What type? and any side effects?
I get facials on the occasion and I have sensitive skin, they normally do things to rehydrate my skin because they often tell me it is damaged. I have oily acne prone sensitive skin and all of the rehydration facials I get really help to renew my skin. Most facials should also treat things like pimples due to them inspecting the skin so closely. Good luck x
Despite what anyone thinks, oily skin and sensitivity can go hand in hand, especially when the client has acne.
Do you have inflammatory acne? You mention blackheads (which are non-inflammatory), but do you also have a lot of redness and get red, sore lesions filled with pus?
You can definitely have a treatment, however you may benefit from high frequency and galvanic type facials. HF can zap pustles (pus filled lesions) and encourage healing, whilst galvanic facials can assist in dislodging blackheads. Most acne treatments can be harsh, but finding the right skin therapist will have you on the right path :)
Search for a clinical or medispa practice, rather than a day spa, particularly if they use Dermalogica or other lines that offer acne solutions that don't involve scrubbing your skin to within an inch of its life to treat acne...
I don't have facials that often but when I do I go to Ella Bache, caring attentive staff and they provide a variety of facials for different skin types and needs.
I have very sensitive skin and always have facials.... Ella bache is great, I walk out glowing. Dermalogica is also great, as is O cosmetics.
Go for it!
I also have sensitive skin and have been going to endota, my skin doesn't react as I can also be quite dry. I go for the hydrating facial so nothing too harsh. Keen to try more treatments and looking into other salons in Melbourne!
Do you have a recommendation for a mask other than the Azulene Calming Mask? I’m allergic to Balsam of Peru (which is in all the calming products..or the irony) and I’ve been able to find an MB replacement for everything but my mask.
I was on the look out the find some nails I had been using acrylics for so long and I was over the time it took .
Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque is a good working facial mask. It contains cranberry and turmeric which is great for the skin.
Simple Reviving Under-Eye Hydrogel Mask is a really good product. It applies under the eyes and offers hydration for the eyes. It contains minerals and plant extracts that are good for the skin.
