Hey lovelies! My boyfriend is turning 18 in a couple of weeks and I'm totally stumped for gifts! I don't have a job so I'd prefer something not overly expensive but I'm open to any suggestions! Beauty related or not, I'd love to hear it.
You could bake miniature biscuits and crackers, put them in cute bags for him to snack on when he gets a craving.
You could make chocolate dipped strawberries.
A CD with your fave songs
DIY trail mix bagged into tiny cute bags for when he gets a craving.
A DIY photo frame with a pic of you guys
DIY lip balm (google recipe)
A DIY coupon book with coupons redeemable for free back massage, free foot massage, maybe a foot soak, pedi and manicure, scalp massage, etc.
I would suggest making a gift basket with a combination of edible goodies and something keepsake so his reminded of his bday long after the edibles are gone.
You could bake him a cake?
I made by boyfriend (now husband) a chocolate wasted cake with all his favourite chocolates which he thoroughly enjoyed eating
What's a chocolate wasted cake? It sounds delicious!
It does sound very intriguing! Id love to hear more about this
This is a chocolate wasted cake in all it's glory!
Oh my god! That sure does look amazing!
Think of what food he likes and see if you can cook/make it for him. Something he really enjoys!
You guys can go out for a nice drive, walk in the park, on the beach, or anywhere, no need to spend any money there.
I like the cake idea too.
What about getting him his favourite aftershave or cologne, if you shop now, you could find it on sale.
Thank you for these lovely suggestions, problem is I can't cook and being only 17 myself it's hard to plan to go anywhere really but I'll see what I can do because it's a really great idea! Thanks again :)
I thing cooking him a hearty meal with love and affection will be a real gift because buying gifts is HIS thing!! Oops
Not only can I not cook but we'll be at school all day then out to dinner with his family so I dunno, I guess cooking is just not the best option. Thankyou though, I'll keep this in mind for when I get a bit older :) :)
As surprising as it sounds, I have bought jewelery for both my past boyfriends and they loved it, I think because it isn't something they buy themselves. Even a dog tag necklace engraved could be really personal and thoughtful, especially for an 18th. If all else fails, a bottle of liquor generally goes down well.
I also have to buy him a gift to thank him for partnering me to my debutant ball, I might keep this in mind for that! Thankyou so much! X
How about going to the movies and seeing a movie he wants to see?
You don't have to go on his birthday night, just keep it for another special evening/occassion to celebrate his special day.
Gold Class tickets ;)
Does he support any sports teams? I got my father a Richmond calendar for christmas.
Clothing, hats, scarves, badges, drink bottles, towels and key rings and other little ornaments related to his team are some things that he may like if he enjoys sport.
And although it's not "manly" he might like some bath bombs or soaps from Lush or other companies that do them.
a photo book or a canvas as a collage if your creative to get photos to look good together.
Guys are just so darn hard to buy for!
I don't know where you can get them in Australia, But I got my husband a leather key ring with his name embossed on it from overseas, he loves it.
As it is his 18th birthday you could buy him alcohol, something like a nice bottle of whiskey? I usually gifted alcohol back when my friends and I were all having our 18th birthdays and would pair it with something like some jewelery, a perfume, photo frame with a nice picture etc.
If he isn't much of a drinker I think going to the movies as CherryBlossom suggested could also be nice :)
You could make a book of IOU vouchers for him for things like washing his car, cleaning his room, a back massage, hugs and kisses, walking his dog, whatever you want to do for him. Chemist Warehouse also have some nice inexpensive aftershaves.
If you want to gift something then I think you have to purchase it online. Because there you can find out many collection for boys what you like to give and through it you can get discount by using coupons and vouchers.
I've reported the previous two posts as spam.
As have I, Petal. Thank you x
I'm subscribed to a lot of male interest newsletters and they often suggest a lot of male gadget and grooming items. I just purchase one of those, make a little gift basket, add some male skincare goodies in, a few snacks I know he likes, and a good book, and he's happy as a clam when he gets it. Who doesn't like getting a basket of goodies tied with a bow?
I recommend a new stubble or beard shaver . There would be nothing better then fresh new blades plus it s not something they would prob buy them selfves as there is so many to choose from most men hate shopping.
Just looked up the chocolate cake link that Marina_87 supplied us with and oh wow....I think this cake contains all 100% of the chocolate calories for a year in just the one cake :)
Thank you BH for an opportunity to try this product as I would never have bought this otherwise.
I received a sample of this product to try. I was excited as I love John Frieda products and I'm always looking for that next best thing.
I haven’t used Proactiv products before as I worry about the reaction on my skin. I received this Proactiv 3 step kit from beautyheaven (thank you BH!) to trial so I thought it’s now or never.
We had the Christmas in July giveaways and now it’s back on again!
