has anyone has laser hair removal and how did you find it?
i have had 10 sessions and its still growing back,,, have i been scammed??
Laser is hard because it will only work on the most perfect hair (which is dark and thick). I have had laser pretty much all over my body and the lighter hair still grows back, all it did was remove the few thicker hair. But that's how it worked. I don't think you've been scammed, but the laser specialist should have made it clear how it works and looked at your hair. Chances are you have lighter hair which does nothing with laser. Also IPL is not nearly as effective as actual laser ...
My experience was a bit different! I had laser (Brazilian), which got rid of my ginger streaked map of Tassie completely; then I had IPL at a different salon on my upper legs, but it only took the strip of black hair at the back of my thighs, from behind my knee up to the Gulf of Carpentaria. There was no noticeable difference to the ginger/brown hair on the rest of my thighs. I had about the same number of sessions for each treatment.
I won a BaByliss Home IPL device on beautyheaven, & so far I'm seeing a definite reduction in hair regrowth. My pits are 99% clear, my legs still have regrowth, but it's getting progressively finer.
Ah m8 I'm crying, so funny! Reminds me of the Hannah Gadsby comedy routine where she talks about her map of USSR
edit to add the link to Hannah, love it :)
Hannah Gadsby's hilarious! With her classic hourglass figure - with only 10 minutes left! lol!
hahhahahhaha....I am DYING! hahahahah.....never heard of Hannah, she is hilarious! Thank you heaps for the link!
My Tassie area (black forest) is not budging much with IPL home device, but the rest....hallelujah! Noticed, lighter hair ( blonde, light brown to brown) everywhere else going away and gone
Hahaha m8, your description is hilarious!
I think it depends on where the hair is located. I've had a lot of success with laser removal on my legs but less so with my under arms and other body parts. I think it also works best on brunettes with fairer skin.
M8 lol @ streak map of tassie.
hahahah...YES! I will never ever look at Tasmania same Ever again! 0_0
I have had four laser sessions on my underarms, bikini line and full legs so far and it's been incredible for me. I have really dark thick hair so the reduction so far has been awesome. I only need to shave fortnightly (if that) at the moment. my upper legs haven't had that much difference but that's because it's pretty blonde there anyway.
My Co-worker has this done on her legs and she said it felt like an elastic being sprung on her every time.
In the end she was happy but i'm not sure why she had it done, her legs you can't even tell she has any hair (before) and because she has a darker skin tone, the laser process was not very nice on her, giving her "burns" on her legs for a while until the scarring had healed. The beauty consultant should have checked her skin tone before starting and recommending its not the best for her completion. :(
I've got a silk n flash and go laser hair removal device valued at over $500 just wondering if anyone has used one of these, as I can't find much feedback and too scared to give it ago
I am a brunette and have quite a bit of facial hair. I spent thousands on laser hair removal over 10 years ago. It looked great for about a year then started to grow back.
I spent $400 on a No No hair removal machine which was hopeless. So now wax or pluck and am still waiting for an answer to this problem
I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard that threading can be effective for the removal of facial hair. It's not a permanent solution, but it is an alternative to waxing or plucking that you might want to consider.
I've had 12 sessions, I spaced it out monthly then towards the end about 6-8 weeks. I found that inbetween the hair was growing back like fluff but once I exfoliate it would drop off. It's now been a good 12 months since my last session but the hair as grown back! Brazilian and underarm. I called the laser place and they recommended I come back for another 6 at least. I will book and see how I go! I have fine hair so not sure if this is a contributing factor? My friend did the same, 12 sessions and she swears no hair has grown back! So may be dependent on the individual as well.
Well it really depends on the area of the body. I found it worked on the upper lip but I had been doing it for around 2 years before the hair stopped growing back. I decided to do my whole face thinking it'll give me a great smooth finish even though I had fine hair to begin with. Worst mistake ever, it stimulated my hair growth as the face is very hormonal and made the hair grow back thicker. On my legs and bikini it worked great, I had 10 treatments and never seen a hair there again.
Approximately how much would it be for one session?
I've got light/medium skin and dark hair so laser worked really well on me - i got my underarm and bikini done. It was mentally uncomfortable the first few times, but I wasn't in any physical pain or anything like that. I would definitely recommend it
I have a feeling this is still a relatively new thing, I have had my legs done, lots of times, for a while they were fine now the hair seems to be growing back, and I have had a new session, but more of my legs are getting covered.
also underarms, although most hair is not growing back long, you can see the black roots.
I had about 14 sessions on my bikini, lower legs and underarms. I have fair skin and dark hair, not all of it has gone about 95% of the underarm, 80% of the bikini and 95% of the lower legs are hair free and those bits of hair that are growing back are much finer and slower to grow. How long have people found the result last? its been about 18 months and I like not having to think about shaving more than once a fortnight!
love it! have seen a massive difference. But you get what you pay for in my experience its better to pay more and avoid scoopon deals
kitagawadermatology spammed on page one of this thread.
My case was pretty similar too, at a few spots the laser hair removal did not work properly and hair just started growing. It's not uncommon that these kind of things happen. Sometimes it is unavoidable :(
