It is normal to lose about 100 hairs a day (just the normal growing cycle) Sometimes things like hormones, illness or stress can result in an increase in hair loss. I wouldn't be concerned unless you are losing handfuls at a time. I always clog up the shower plug with my hair!
It's completely normal - unless you're noticing bald patches on your head or something! I don't brush my hair - except for right before I wash it (which is only twice a week!) so instead of having most of the hairs come out in my brush - it's normally all over my clothes! haha But it's perfectly normall, as GG said!
oh good because i was getting worried i do have exams next week so that might be stress. do you reckon silica does anything??
It can happen from extreme stress - but I think unless you're noticing chunks of hair falling out it should be just the standard daily hair loss? From what I've heard, silica is supposed to be excellent for your hair, skin and nails, I've heard great things about it but never tried it out myself.
Silica won't stop it from falling out - all hair falls out after it's growth cycle. It might make it more shiny/stronger though.
My hair is always falling out. I wish it wouldn't as it's not like I have a thick head of hair, if I did it would not matter. I ntake medication for epileptic seizures & wonder if maybe epilim which is one of the drugs has bad side affects! I wash & condition my hair every day & try not to apply heat appliances on my hair every day!
its not a registered side affect of epilim but I would check with your doctor- plus how long have you been taking your medication - I only ask as when I was first put on Insulin injections a whole lot of my hair fell out and my specialist said it was my body adjusting to the medicine and that I was nolonger severly dehydrated. therefore check with your GP drink more water, take silica, calcium and magnesium etc. try rubbing olive oil - 1 desert soon with 3 drops of juniper essential oil and massage into the scalp - it helped thicken my hair - it even helped my father grow back some his hair
My hair falls our too! I just brush my hair more carefully and make sure i dont handle it roughly. Just dont use too much chemicals on your hair and try make your hair is healthy looking by using conditioner everytime you wash your hair.
it's all natural it's just like skin- dead skin cells, hair- it falls out
You should look at your diet; this can effect your hair quality. Also, deficiencies in certain vitamins can cause excess hair loss.
sometimes, when the water is 'hard'...it tends to accelerate hair loss... i'm not sure if it's a scientific fact or myth tho...
venus guru--- i'm gonna try rubbing olive oil...onto my partner's hair..his hair seems to be thinning. what kind of olive oil; virgin or extra virgin etc? and the frequency of massage? thanks heaps!
We are on 'bore' water for the moment until the rain water tank fills up a bit...I haven't had any trouble with 'hard' water as such...my hair isn't falling out at all...I've never heard of it accelerating hair loss...thats my experience anyway...and its a lot better than town water, as town water has chloride in it which actually makes my blonde hair have tinges of green in it.
This happens to me too. If I comb my hair in the shower post-conditioning, the amount of hair that comes off in the comb is enough for a tiny wig! I find that the number of hairs decreases when I brush more regularly (ie, hairs come out on the brush a few times a day rather than all at once because they have fallen throughout the day and get trapped by the other hairs). For your bathroom floor - the electro-static disposable wipes you buy from the supermarket clean up all the mess!
Okay so has it always happened or just recently? if it has just been recently then do not worry about it. If you have had bald patches in the past then see a doctor. I have a sickness where I somtimes (rarely) get bald patches on my head and it would take ages to grow back. It's horrible but there is a medicine from the doctor that you can apply to the affected area and it makes your hair grow faster. Hope it helps anyone else who has it.
i think also to if you have a wide tooth comb it is best to use when you put conditioner in your hair and brush through don't ever brush your hair when its wet with a brush!! lol it makes it frizzy and you could loose more hair!! as i have found out...
Beautymax I have a very similar problem with my hair. I was so worried that I spent over $200 to see a specialist only to find that my GP could give me the same answers :S What you need to find out is whether the hair is falling from the root or breaking...if its breakage then you need to treat it somehow but root breakage is natural and at times can mean your hair is thinning :( but there's treatment to decrease that too but more costly. Brushing hair is perfectly ok, in fact my GP told me to not stop that as it helps massage your scalp. What you can do is reduce harsh heat by blow drying, straightening or curling less, as well as dying hair less often.
Hope that helps :)
P.s. stressing too much can cause it too so it could be the exam time :P

Stress.
It's completely normal. I also face those sorts of hair falls everyday. I don't feel worried until I see too much hair falls in the same day. So, take a extra care about your hair.
its pretty normal to lose some hair .... try using some mild shampoo
I agree I think it's normal not unless you are losing too much hair that it came to a point that you started to get thin and brittle hair. But I recommend you to use natural or organic hair care products to avoid too much hair fall.
It happens to all because many of us do not have a healthy lifestyle. In the busy schedule, we often ignore the way we eat or care about our hair. If you have the right diet chart then I guarantee that you will never face hair loss. Apart from it, do oiling to your hair once or twice a week.
