Say goodbye to swollen feet

Irrespective of whether you love or hate your feet, I’m pretty certain that you aren’t too keen on the ‘cankle’ look (you know, when your feet are so swollen your ankles loose all definition and seem to disappear into your calves) – am I right? I thought so.
If you’re often on your feet all day, have ever been on a long-haul flight, or suffer from water retention, then chances are you’ve already experienced the ‘joys’ of cankles – and aren’t exactly looking forward to the next time your feet swell to the same epic proportions.
So before your feet start kicking up a fuss, try these quick and easy tips to relieve tired, swollen feet. Who knows – you might just get your ankles back!
1.) Soak your feet with a soothing foot soak, like Sally Hansen Revitalizing Foot Soak. Calming lavender in the formula will help to minimise swelling, eliminate any redness and relieve aches and pains.
2.) Massage away excess fluid with a foot lotion. Use firm, upwards strokes towards your heart to stimulate your circulation and aid lymphatic drainage and toxin release. The swelling may feel pretty set-in, but keep going and we promise you’ll see results.
3.) Cool things down by using a cooling foot spray or make your own using peppermint, tea tree and eucalyptus oils. It will keep the swelling from coming back plus deodorise and disinfect your feet.
Learn how to make a homemade footbath – your feet will love you for it we promise!...
Pretty up your feet – we show you how to choose the perfect nail polish shade for your toes…

I find that green tea really helps easing swollen feet especially after flying.

I've never had cankles, but I often have aching legs and feet. I hoist them up on the back of the lounge for 10 minutes, that fixes them up.

I've never had cankles on my ankles. Sorry, just had to say that - it rhymes so beautifully together. Seriously though, I've never had cankles!

I've sprained both my ankles so many times, I've done permanent damage to both of them. On the hottest of days, they swell & it's painful. I find wearing slides or mules minimises swelling. I think it's because I have to clench my toes with each step - it seems to keep the circulation going, reducing swelling. At least, that's my theory of why it works.

You know what works for me? Peppermint oil! Good old 100% natural peppermint oil. You can dilute it down and put it in a foot bath and it cools them right down. You can put it in a spritz and it helps with your feet. It is an excellent deodoriser. I love it in my migrastick. It helps with bug bites. You can't go wrong!

I use a foot spray from The Body Shop and sometimes use a small portion of LUSH's bath melts as a footbath.
