How-to: look as rad as Ricki Lee

We have to spill the beans, we’ve been a wee bit naughty here at bh HQ – and when I say ‘we’, I really mean me. You see, I’ve been following Ricki Lee’s weight loss progress over the last year, and she has really been my idol when it comes to getting fitter and healthier. Which is why, when I got wind of the star’s weekly workout regime, I just knew I had to share the details with all of you.
And from where did I nick this little piece of gold? Straight from the horse’s mouth of course! Well, straight from her Twitter account at least! She recently tweeted the deets of her week in workouts and I just had to dish the dirt and share the regime behind her amazing transformation with my favourite people (a.k.a. you guys.)
Here is Ricki’s tweet, in the erm… flesh.
Okay, so to re-cap – that’s an hour long run every morning, plus three nights a week a gym session that consists of 10 minutes on the cross trainer, full body weights, and 20 minutes on the exercise bike.
Woah – it may seem a little full on for you, but you can change it up a little if you like, I know I will. I’m not much of a runner you see, so I’d swap a few of my morning runs for a repeat of the gym session she describes, then I’d probably swap out a couple more for some low resistance, strengthening exercise like yoga or pilates.
Look out Ricki Lee, I’m coming to get you!
How would you personalise this fitness regime to work for you?

I am not a runner, my knees would never forgive me if I did-but I do believe walking is a fantastic form of exercise- my thighs and weight are the best it's ever been in my life, and I say that after having 2 kids too. I'm keeping up the walking.

I like to exercise, but not to that extent. I would do a lesser version of that regime.

I'm not a runner, so I will walk, briskly (actually, I do that now) and I will probably add in some aerobics with weights(which I've been meaning to get back into to drop those Christmas kilos).

I'm not a fan of running so I'd swap that for swimming laps in the pool...much more fun!

I walk for an hour not run. One it would be two tiring, two my boobs are way too big to let me run. Plus I don't have the time to do that everyday. I my travel time to work and back takes two and a half hours out of my day and for some strange reason we have to have an hour long lunch therefore eating more out of time I could have at home. Plus preparing all of my meals due to not wanting to eat too much processed food or food that I am allergic to and cleaning my home so that it is always looking good. She must have loads of time on her hands.

Ricki Lee looks amazing. Having a personal trainer bf probably keeps her on track.

Woah running for an hour sounds like torture to me. I'd walk fast for an hour instead. Ricki does look amazing!

She looks so healthy and fresh, she's literally glowing! I find her a wonderful inspiration as someone who is focussing on her fitness and health rather than mere appearance.

My workout regime consists of walking around doing bill paying and groceries, I park the car and walk everywhere. At home chores from hanging the washing, through to dusting and vaccuming I consider exercise. Even sitting, I can do a workout by doing leg raises and pelvic floor muscles. I walk our dogs and walk my son to soccer and the skate park. I have a workout and I think a lot of mothers do workouts without realizing it, doing everyday chores and even going to work.

Ricki looks so hot, and blissfully happy that all her hard work has paid off. I'm not a runner either, I prefer walking, either in nature or on the treadmill with my music. But it takes longer to achieve a level of fitness, and I don't do it every day - I used to be a slave to my home gym, had far better results not doing it every day though...

She's looking great. I must say I'm not a fan of running, so I wouldn't deal well with the daily morning runs!
