Best body wash for your next shower

The body wash is the unsung hero of your bathroom beauty stash. Think about it – is there a single other beauty product that you use in the bath or shower that can totally change your mood? Didn’t think so! Ideally, your best body wash will have the ability to leave your skin feeling soft and your mind and body feeling ready for the day (or night, depending on your bathing habits!).

Finding the best body wash for you is a personal thing, but a good recommendation never goes astray. So, we’re sharing our favourites to help you find your new soapy (or non-soapy!) shower BFF.
bh’s Kate – Palmolive Luminous Oils Shower Gel - Invigorating
“I’ve been known to be a bit of a beauty product snob. It’s not that I don’t love a budget find, but according to my beauty shelves, I’m just more of a ‘champagne taste on a beer budget’ kinda gal. But body wash is body wash, and after running out of my exxy body oil with payday nowhere near, I picked up this cheap and cheerful shower gel – and now I’m obsessed! It smells amazing and the macadamia oil in the formula leaves my skin softer than soft. I also find that my skin looks more glowy and healthy thanks to the botanical oils. And it’s only $5.99! I’ve officially swapped out my boujee body washes for this winner.”
bh’s Sam – MOR Marshmallow Hand & Body Wash ($34.95, myer.com.au)
“If you have yet to experience the cult favourite marshmallow range of MOR products then you have not lived! The Marshmallow Hand & Body Wash has been my holy grail shower gel for many, many years and for good reason. I am all about a sweet scent and this product leaves me smelling like I've rolled myself in frosting. The body wash is quick to foam and a little goes a long way. The scent doesn't dissipate when you wash the product off like some other products. I would highly recommend giving this product a go if like me you are a sucker for a sweet scent!”
bh’s Laura – Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
“The Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is my holy grail of body washes! I have been using it daily since I was in my early teens as I have always been prone to acne (and bacne – the horror!) and find many targeted cleansers too harsh. Cetaphil gently cleanses my skin without stripping it of moisture which is important to keep it looking fresh and the frustrating pimples at bay. My skin always feels soft after use and it keeps it perfectly balanced between oily and dry. I’d recommend this product to anyone looking for anyone with acne or sensitive skin looking for a cleanser that won’t dry out their skin.”
bh’s Katie – Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Coconut Indulgent
“I can't go past a body wash that smells as heavenly as Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Coconut Indulgent. I'm a sucker for anything coconut scented but this not only ticks the divine scent box, it also lathers and moisturises like a dream in the shower. At a price point of $5.99 it is also easy on the budget but still manages to feel like a luxe treat. I try hard to avoid using products with hidden nasties and the fact that this product is also from free from all those hidden nasties – no sulphates, parabens or phthalates – makes this one a no-brainer.”
bh’s Natasha – DermaVeen Extra Gentle Soap Free Wash
“My all-time favourite body wash is the DermaVeen Extra Gentle Soap Free Wash. I have always struggled with keeping my sensitive, irritated skin comfortable and can rely on this wash to help do so. I really like the thick, consistency, which reduces product waste as it stays in your hands before application and doesn't flow straight down the drain. This wash leaves my skin feeling soft and helps to create a moisture barrier for my skin, which means I no longer suffer itchiness after showering. So glad I found this product, HG!”

Marshmallow Hand & Body Wash sounds yummy. I have the perfume so I assume that the corresponding hand and body wash is just as good.

I tend to not use shower gels because some make the bathroom floor slippery for whoever is showering after me.

I like to use the Baby U Goat Milk body wash for babies and toddlers - suitable for sensitive skin - no parabens or sls. Picked up a small bottle in a bh beautorium and been buying it ever since. A dedicated natural soap person (found a sensitivity to the lovely body washes I would use) but occasionally I use a body wash and this one is lovely.

I love the Nutrimetics Botanical Range of Shower Gels. A Body Wash and Shower Gel is practically the same thing isn't it ? If not, years ago my Hubby bought me 8 Lux Body Washes as my birthday present because we couldn't afford expensive birthday presents then. They were all divine !!! I loved deciding which body wash I felt like using each day. It all depended on what mood I wanted to be in after my shower as fragrance does have a big impact on my mood :).

I use a Sukin one for sensitive skin, no fragrance or chemical nasties which I prefer.

I have been using Lux body washes for years and I love all of them! I am surprised no one else in the BH team seems to share my preference for Lux. The body washes are made in Australia too! Score!
