The beauty step 70% of Aussies are forgetting

Although we recently discovered Aussies’ oral hygiene is worse than the Brits, it still comes as a surprise that we’re really not taking proper care of their pearly whites.
Research has revealed people in a staggering 70 per cent of Australian households fail to complete a twice-daily oral care routine of brushing, flossing and rinsing with mouthwash, so LISTERINE (www.listerine.com.au) is taking action with its 21 Day Challenge.
In an effort to change our dodgy dental habits, LISTERINE is encouraging everyone to start – and stick to – a good oral health routine in just three weeks. And with today being World Oral Health Day, what better time than now to starting improving your oral health?
After brush and flossing (we love Pronamel Daily Toothpaste and Colgate Total Dental Ribbon), rinse with the LISTERINE Total Care Mouthwash ($9.45, www.listerine.com.au). Not only will this super-charged routine help to strengthen your teeth, it’ll also control plaque and kill germs that cause bad breath, giving you a smile you’ll want to show off.
Are you a bit lazy when it comes to looking after your teeth? Are you up for the LISTERINE 21 Day Challenge?

Sorry, but I won't use Listerine. I use a mouthwash that contains botanical ingredients.

I definitely brush my teeth twice a day - I need more motivation to floss though!

Although I brush daily, I sometimes use a mouthwash but not once a day and I'm slack with the flossing.

I brush my teeth twice a day, but I only floss at night & never use mouthwash - not surprised to hear a few fellow beauties saying that their dentists think its a waste of time. I can't recall any dentist ever telling me to use the stuff, although I did start flossing once a dentist recommended that I do so. Aside from gum problems, I think my teeth overall are ok - they ought to be after 2 years of braces when I was in my teens!

That's still a rough claim, stating Australians are worse than the Brits when it comes to oral hygiene. Is that per capita, or per dental cap?!

I brush twice daily as I hate that furry feeling!! I floss when I remember...which is not often at all! But I hate mouthwash, I just don't like it. Don't like the burning sensation, don't like the taste!

My dentist has told me that mouthwash is a waste of time unless you have gum issues. I still do like to mouthwash every few days after brushing and flossing though.

I empathise with the above post! I too have been obsessed with dental hygiene my whole life only to have continual problems whilst orally lazy friends/family members have no problems whatsoever! Grrr!

I normally don't use mouth wash but have started in the last week or so. It really seems to give me a fresh mouth/clean feeling.

I didn't like mouthwashes for the longest time, but lately I have discovered a few good ones and now love using a mouthwash.

I was suffering from dental flourosis and flouride poisoning (affected my thiroid), so had to avoid all chemical products including listerine, toothpastes with flour compounds, tap water, even store bought plant milks (all made with city water). It burns my mouth to the point of bleeding. Never again, no more. 11 years took me to heal!

I'm not a consistent mouth wash user but I do brush my teeth twice a day.. I think this challenge is a good one, need to see if it DOES in fact make a difference :)

I'm a bit compulsive with the mouthwash, I'll admit it. My mouth feels so nasty when I can't get that step in, even when I do the other steps. Even my coworkers know I keep it handy.
