Get a better nights sleep
Getting enough sleep is vital for good health – not only will it help your body and mind to function at its optimum, but while you sleep, your cells get to work repairing, rejuvenating and refreshing, so that your skin looks younger and clearer when you wake. You’ll also find that the more sleep you get, the less likely you are to crave the foods that are bad for you, so get some shut-eye and you’ll have more motivation to kick start that healthy eating plan of yours!
Having trouble falling asleep? Try Swisse Ultiboost Sleep, a supplement that promotes more restful sleep.
The benefits of meditation range from better quality sleep to improved moods, so if you’re feeling a little stressed out lately it could be a useful addition to your stress management toolbox. If you’ve had ‘start meditating’ at the top of your to-do list for months, a change in season is the best time to add something new to your routine (and help you stick with it). Start small by setting a timer for five minutes, take yourself somewhere dark and quiet and try to zone out. You can always build up to longer meditations, rather than trying to do too much too soon and wearing yourself out.
That’s right, we’re harping on about this again – but we bet no matter how many times you’ve been told about the importance of drinking water, you still forget to do it. Your body needs water to keep your cells hydrated so that your skin can maintain its clarity and elasticity. It also aids the digestion process so that essential nutrients are transported around your body, and toxins and waste are sent swiftly out. (Noticed any bloating or dark rings around your eyes that just won’t go away? Could be a build-up of toxins in your system, so make sure you drink more water to flush them right out).
Try a new workout routine
A mere 30 minutes of exercise a day is all it takes to increase the pep in your step. Why? Exercise releases endorphins (your body’s natural ‘feel-good’ chemicals) and decreases the levels of stress hormones, leaving you feeling happier, healthier and of a clearer mind. You’ll increase your productivity at work (ever tried to focus when you’re feeling lethargic? It’s near impossible to get anything done efficiently), and things that once seemed insurmountable, will be much easier to manage. Exercise also stimulates your circulation, which helps promote radiant, glowing skin.
Swap out the sugars
The days of trying to combat the cold weather with comfort foods are over! It’s time to ditch those chocolate binges and afternoon sugary snacks for something far more summer-friendly – fruit! When the sugar cravings hit, resist the temptation of the biscuit tin and reach for a piece of fruit instead – it may not seem as tasty as a Tim Tam at first, but after a few days you’ll be amazed at how it can help to satisfy your cravings. It’ll also slowly release sugar into your system, giving you prolonged energy, as opposed to a quick burst followed by a massive slump. Love your sweet treats too much to give them up? Indulge in some chocolate – the no-calorie kind – with LYCON SoYummy Lotion.
Spring clean your skin.
Right, so you’ve got the tips you need to get your internal spring clean started, now it’s time to give your skin a helping hand. Diminish dead cells and eliminate any impurities lurking underneath with a daily face wash designed to deep cleanse. We like Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant because of its rice-based enzyme powder microfoliates, that buff away dull skin and leaves your skin noticeably brighter.
