It's getting hot in here
It’s a glorious, sweltering hot day outside and you’re stuck in the office. You’re sitting at your desk, getting on with your work (or checking out the latest beautyheaven blog) and generally minding your own business when it hits – the all encompassing, gut churning, eye-watering inducing passing waft of…body odour.
You don’t know whether to run, hide, or seek out this malodorous person – who clearly underestimated the heat factor on this given (or possibly every) day – tackle them to the floor and douse them with deodorant. Unfortunately, good office etiquette and general politeness makes it too awkward to do any of the above and so most of us are forced to suffer in silence.
What I’m wondering though, is there a nice way of letting a BOO (body odour offender) know that the air around them is a little less than savoury? Without hurting their feelings? After all, if it’s just a one-off and they totally forgot to put on deodorant that morning you could be saving them from an unwarranted workplace nickname that would linger much longer than the smell itself.
I personally keep a couple of my fave anti-perspirants and body sprays, such as Nivea Double Effect Aerosol and Australis Angel Mist Body Spray, on my desk and if the smell value seems to be heading south I make a bit of a show along the lines of, “wow it’s hot today! Does anyone else want to top up their deodorant?”, (whilst simultaneously trying to subtly spray in the direction of the BOO).
Mind you, subtly never was my strong point!
How do you keep cool and combat body odour in the heat?
