Race day beauty tips you can bet on

A day at the races is the perfect occasion for ladies to don their finest dresses, try out a fancy new hairstyle and get completely dolled up with lashes, fascinators, sky-high shoes – whole works.
But it’s also a long day of fun in the sun that requires clever preparation and some smart handbag additions. So before you pop the champagne and fix up your fascinator, make sure you’ve got these top tips at the ready.
RACE DAY TIP #1 A deodorant you can count on
The last thing you want ruining your race-day outfit is sweat marks, or even worse, odour. So to ensure you stay fresh and dry all day long, pop on Dove Orginal Anti-Perspirant Roll-On before slipping into your dress. The light fragrance will keep you smelling your best, while the formula will protect you from any signs of wetness. And for a fast freshen-up before carrying on into the night, keep Dove Invisible Dry Anti White Marks Anti-Perspirant Deodorant on hand. The translucent micro-fine formulation will protect your clothes from white marks, so you’ll be safe no matter what colour you’re wearing. Just spray and go play!
RACE DAY TIP #2 Bobby pins and hairspray
If you’ve spent well over an hour doing your hair and securing your fascinator, the last thing you want is a bit of wind to ruin it all. Use a strong-hold hairspray to secure your style and pack extra bobby pins in your handbag for any strays that come loose during the day. I also like to carry a clip-on flower in my bag to pop in my hair on the off-chance that my fascinator or hat fails to stay on all day.
RACE DAY TIP #3 Hydration
If there’s any day to listen to the rule of a glass of water between every glass of champagne, race day is it. Make sure you’re drinking just as much water as any other liquid on the day, especially if the sun is out in full force.
RACE DAY TIP #4 Sun protection
Before you apply any other beauty product in the morning, make sure every inch of your skin is covered in sunscreen. Pack a travel-size in your handbag and apply every few hours, following the recommendations on the bottle. If you can, try to park you and your friends in a shady spot for the day and try not to stand in the sun too long, especially between the hours of 11am to 3pm when UV rays are at their strongest. Sunstroke and alcohol DO NOT mix.
RACE DAY TIP #5 Blotting papers
To keep your make-up fresh and your coverage full, keep a few blotting papers in your bag to soak up any oil and moisture before proceeding with touch-ups. Applying make-up to moist skin will only result in patchy coverage that will smear at the slightest touch.

Great tips. I'd only add to carry fold up ballet flats in your purse - nothing worse than a nicely dressed girl in bare feet on the way home!

I have never been to the races and I doubt that I ever will. My only tip for going anywhere for the day is to take lots of water to drink ... boring, but essential.

so true... sun stroke and alcohol DO NOT mix! I'm a fan of lipstick over lipgloss incase it's windy so your hair doesnt end up sticking to your face... and also using water proof mascara incase it is very hot..or wet... where makeup might end up slidding off!
