Miranda recently chatted to Popsugar Australia and shared some of her best beauty, health and wellness tips...
Budget wellness buys
Not all wellness products are glam – not even for Miranda Kerr. Her best budget wellness buys include a dry body brush, a tongue scraper, epsom salts and coconut oil. Not glamorous, but they all do the trick!
beautyheaven loves the Manicare Dry Body Brush, The Body Shop Cactus Brush and Nature’s Way Super Organic Coconut Oil.
The importance of turmeric
Miranda Kerr loves her turmeric. It’s the hero ingredient in her new Kora Organics Turmeric Brightening & Exfoliating Mask 2-in-1. Why? “Basically for the brightening properties, the fact that it evens the skin tone and it's anti-inflammatory! It just has so many potent antioxidants. Turmeric is so important for delaying the effects of ageing and I've just found it to be incredible for all those reasons. I also cook with it every day. I've got my roast chicken, which is roast turmeric chicken that I make, but I'll also put in in stir fry, or sometimes when I make bolognese I'll add in turmeric. I just find because of the anti-inflammatory properties I'll just kind of add it to everything that I'm cooking with. It's also good as a tea! You know Orchard Street? They made me a special turmeric tea and it's really gentle and soothing and I like it a lot,” Miranda explained to Popsugar Australia.
Her morning skin care routine
To get her daily glow, Miranda cleanses, then uses her new Tumeric 2-in-1 mask before applying her Noni Glow Face Oil. She then massages the oil in with her Rose Quartz Heart Facial Sculptor to reduce puffiness and get the circulation in her face going.
Need a new face oil? beautyheaven loves Swisse Argan Face Oil and Jurlique Purely Age-Defying Firming Face Oil.

Good maintenance is very important, and doing things like a skincare routine, good diet and plenty of water, every single day

Yes I think Miranda Kerr looks fantastic. Yes she does have a beauty routine and shares that with us. But, she must have a beauty routine to maintain her looks at age 35 and I remember when I was 35 I also had lovely glowing skin, lovely shiny long blonde hair and beautiful skin and I didn't partake on any of these beauty rituals. I just had a healthy diet, kept my skin clean without too many chemicals and generally exfoliated at the beach in the surf, getting the natural sand scrub when the waves were too strong.
Ha, those days are now over as i'm in my 60's so I need to resort to additional help in all areas. But, having someone aged 35 promote product to someone of my generation doesn't work as our skin is definitely different with different needs. Stay beautiful you younger beauties!

I’m not a fan of Miranda Kerr. Gosh I m not a fan of a lot of people but I just dislike people who self promote themselves in a way that seems fake and I really disliked her breastfeeding promotion. Look at me I can breastfeed and pose with a fish face. It sure as heck makes other new mums feel inadequate when they have difficulties. “She makes it look so easy... what’s wrong with me?”

I'm really not trying to be a negative Nancy here... but I always feel like her beauty and health are always being attributed to things (by others and by her) that aren't really related to the fact that she simply has fantastic genetics and a great professional team around her (her appearance is her product/career!) . Not to be mean but most of her "secrets" just don't make most people glow and get fit as much as she does and is... I would rather take advice from someone with slightly wonkier genetic blessings like my own :D

I have a little bit of an issue with traditional medicine being appropriated by Western culture. In this case, I'm speaking about turmeric.
Turmeric is a rhizome that is held with reverence in India and call me a cynic for seeing its use in the West as another beauty fad where everyone is hopping on the bandwagon to make a quick dollar and because you know, Gwyneth said it’s great so it must be great.
Turmeric and many other rhizomes in the Zingiberaceae family have amazing anti inflammatory properties when applied in their fresh form. Such properties are diminished upon drying.
Using dried turmeric alone doesn't provide you with as much positive effect but when combined black pepper, the two ingredients are potentiating.
That is the bioavailability and medicinal activity of each are enhanced more when used together than if they were used in isolation.
I love turmeric but it isn’t the answer to everything.

I am legitimately interested in the conversation of whether it is/should even be possible to consider adapting any medicinal products as "appropriation" - reverence or not. Something that can save or highly improve quality of life for some people; should there be a patent of any kind on that, regardless of its standing in the culture of origin?

I don't think there should ever be patents applied to plants used in traditional medicine as that is bio-piracy.
If a pharmaceutical company finds a new use for a component of a plant, then yes, they should be able to apply for patents solely for that use.

I suspect that she uses them the way I use them: as bath salts. They are really good for sore muscles.

They are not meant to be tasty at least not when used in the traditional Ayurvedic manner. It's used as medicine in India and kids and adults alime generally detest it! Can't speak for all Indians though...

Great turmeric product. Turmeric is effective in the treatment of acne due to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties that fight pimples and breakouts to provide a youthful glow to your skin. Turmeric face mask helps to clear acne scars and inflammation, She is so pretty.

I do love turmeric - and do sometimes make a home made mask with it (just mix it with yogurt) and it works a treat. I buy it in bulk and put it on porridge and in smoothies too. MK’s skin is particularly amazing though.

Never heard of using tumeric for the face but don't think it's something I'm keen to try. She is gorgeous and looks stunning but has lots of $$$ so I am sure that has alot to do with what she does overall daily which normal people just can't do!
